Eğil Castle
Eğil Castle, surrounded by deep valleys on three sides and built on a monolithic rock by carving the other side, is estimated to have been built during the time of the Assyrians, between 3500 and 1260 BCE. It was probably built only as an inner castle during the Assyrian period, and the outer castle was also added in later periods.
In the west-front part of Eğil Castle, there is a figure of an Assyrian King with a long cuneiform script. The castle is strengthened with city walls and bastions, and the outer wall starts next to the valley and continues along the southern slope.
