    Inns

During the reign of Eğil Beys, a principality affiliated with the Ottomans, the Eğil town was located on important trade routes. Inns such as Şerbetin Inn and Konak Köyü Inn became important accommodation centres for caravans leaving Diyarbakır and continuing north via Dicle and Harput.

    Cisterns

Eğil's water needs were met from water sources far away from the town through pipes made of pottery soil. The water was stored in the cistern, similar to a reduced plan of the Basilica Cistern in Istanbul. The water stored in the cistern flowed to the Kale Bath, Kale Mosque, and fountains built at various points.
