Ziyaret Hill and Tombs of the Prophets

There are graves of eight prophets in various parts of Eğil. The Dicle Dam built in the region caused some prophets' tombs to be flooded, but the graves of the prophets Elyesa and Zülkifl were transferred to Ziyaret Hill in 1995. From that date onwards, this place's name, known as Nebi Harun Hill, was changed to Ziyaret Hill. Ziyaret Hill is an important religious tourism centre located at a point overlooking the town and the Dicle Dam. Eğil is a very important place, especially in terms of faith tourism. It is believed that there are graves of 9 prophets, including the prophets Zülkifl and Elyesa, whose names appear in the Holy Qur’an. There are also many tombs of companions and saints in the region.
